Who doesn’t like saving a little money when they can?

Whether you need some odds and ends around the house, or you’re moving into a new place and need the whole 9 yards on a budget, Dollar Tree has all sorts of household items that you’ll want to have around the house.

Dollar Tree was founded in 1986, and currently has over 15,000 locations that bring in a yearly revenue in the tens of billions.

In 2017, Dollar Tree had a revenue of 22.25 billion USD. Dollar Tree was founded by Macon F. Brock, Jr.

From cleaning supplies, kitchen utensils, cosmetics and toiletries, snacks, food, arts and crafts, and a lot more, you can find just about anything at a Dollar Tree and you’ll love the price.

It’s easy to walk into a Dollar Tree with a few items in mind and to walk out with a bunch of extra stuff that you realize you could use.

Before you head down to Dollar Tree and pick out your items, it’s wise to make sure that you have the right payment method with you.

Here’s everything that you’ll need to know before making the trip to Dollar Tree, what you can expect, and how to pay for your stuff.

Should You Use Apple Pay at Dollar Tree?

The short answer is yes, absolutely!

There’s really no reason not to use Apple Pay at Dollar Tree, unless you have an Android device and use Google Pay instead, that is.

Apple Pay works great at Dollar Tree now that they’ve installed contactless terminals at their registers.

It means you can get in, get what you need, and leave as quickly as possible and that’s always a plus!

Especially since the longer you wander around, the more tempted you’ll be to fill your basket with more $1 items that you may not really need.

The biggest reason to use Apple Pay, however, is the improved security that it provides you when you’re making purchases.

Most of us make payments at a handful of different merchants throughout the day, whether it’s coffee shops, gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants, shopping for clothes at the mall, and so on.

Each time you make a payment, there’s a tiny chance of your credit card number or other payment information being compromised.

This happens when merchants are infected by malware, or when an unscrupulous employee tries to skim card numbers.

It’s not super common, but it definitely happens!

And when you use Apple Pay, you don’t have to worry about that because the merchants, their employees, or anyone who may hack into their system down the road will never have access to your payment information because that info stays on your device.

When you pay with Apple Pay, the merchants never know your credit card number or banking information.

You enter that info securely and safely into your Apple device one time when you’re setting it up, then you never have to share your payment info with merchants anymore.

That’s not to say that most merchants are necessarily going out of their way to put your payment info at risk, but we see stories about breaches in the news all the time – it happens – but it can be avoided, or greatly reduced, by using Apple Pay whenever you’re at a place that accepts it.

How To Use Apple Pay at Dollar Tree

It’s so easy to use Apple Pay at Dollar Tree.

If you’ve ever used Apple Pay anywhere else in the past, then you already know what to do once you’re ready to pay at Dollar Tree.

For iPhones and Apple Watches, just double-press the button on the side of your phone and you’ll get a couple of prompts to follow that will guide you through the payment process.

If you haven’t added a payment method to your Apple Wallet yet, open up your Apple Wallet app before you leave for your trip to Dollar Tree and add a payment method.

It’s all very straightforward.

You enter your card into Apple Wallet one time, and then anytime you visit a store, you just press the side button twice, which will open up your Apple Wallet, verify your identity, and complete the payment by holding your device near the payment terminal.

Most tap payment terminals will work, and some stores have special Apple Pay branded terminals for you to pay at.

Either way, you’re keeping your privacy intact by preventing merchants from seeing your credit card information which is always a big plus.

Other Payment Methods Accepted at Dollar Tree Stores

In addition to paying with Apple Pay and Google Pay at Dollar Tree, you can also use the tap to pay feature that is built into some Visa and Mastercard cards.

You can also pay with debit cards or cash at Dollar Tree, but Apple Pay and other tap methods are by far the most convenient.

Note: Family Dollar is owned by Dollar Tree, and they also accept payments using Apple Pay and all of the other contactless methods mentioned above.

Payment Methods for Online Dollar Tree Orders

If you’re placing an online order for Dollar Tree, their accepted payment methods vary compared to in-store.

For online orders, you can pay using credit cards, but you cannot use a digital payment wallet such as Apple Pay or Google Pay.

So, as long as you’re paying in-store, you can use Apple Pay, but if you’re ordering on the Dollar Tree website, you’ll need to find another option.

Conclusion

You can use Apple Pay at Dollar Tree stores, but you’ll need to use a different payment method on their website.

It’s wise to use Apple Pay or a similar digital payment wallet like Google Pay or Samsung Pay as often as you can in order to protect your payment info, and just for the simple convenience of it.

If you’re planning a quick visit or a large shop at Dollar Tree, you can use Apple Pay at the register for a contactless payment.

Hopefully, more and more stores will continue to embrace support for contactless payments in the future.
